ABOUT The WILD:
WILD is an international conservation organization advancing wilderness protection, rewilding, and Indigenous- and community-led conservation worldwide. WILD serves as a convener of collaborative conservation networks that bring together governments, Indigenous Peoples, scientists, NGOs, and policy leaders to advance shared conservation priorities at regional and global scales.
Our work depends on trusted relationships, thoughtful facilitation across cultures and sectors, and the ability to move complex conversations towards meaningful outcomes.
WILD operates with a mission-driven, adaptive spirit.
job profile:
WILD is seeking a Conservation Networks & Facilitation Manager to provide high-level facilitation, governance coordination, and network support across a portfolio of conservation networks and global convenings stewarded by WILD.
This is a hands-on role focused on strengthening process, continuity, and execution. The Manager supports senior leadership by ensuring networks function effectively, documentation is clear, and strategic opportunities are tracked and supported.
Because this role sits at the intersection of governance, policy, and long-standing partnerships, success requires strong relational intelligence, sound judgment, discretion, and comfort operating in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
A significant portion of this role (approximately 50–60%) will support the North American Protected Areas (NAPA) Committee, while also contributing to broader WILD network stewardship and program coordination.
This role operates in a neutral facilitation capacity and supports senior leadership in advancing WILD’s strategic priorities.
The ideal candidate brings:
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills
• Advanced meeting facilitation experience
• Executive-level coordination and follow-through
• The ability to synthesize complex dialogue in real time
• Comfort operating in international, multi-stakeholder environments
• Strong relational judgment and discretion
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Facilitation and Convening Support — Provide facilitation and meeting design support for network chairs and dialogue leaders, including virtual and in-person convenings. Responsibilities include:
•Preparing and distributing invitations, agendas, and meeting materials aligned with desired outcomes
•Structuring meetings to achieve goals and maximize productive discussion
•Managing technical support, introductions, and recording primary discussion points and decisions
•Facilitating “from behind the room,” ensuring discussions stay focused, respectful, and productive
•Synthesizing dialogue in real time
•Adapting tone and style based on audience (e.g., government-level formality vs. coalition environments)
This role strengthens process, structure, and clarity to support others in leading effectively. Demonstrated experience facilitating across cultures and governance contexts is required.
2. Executive Secretariat & Operational Follow-Through — Provide executive-level secretariat services that ensure continuity, accountability, and implementation across convenings. Key responsibilities:
•Produce high-level summaries of discussions, outcomes, and decisions
•Track action items, implementation progress, and continuity across meetings
•Maintain organized records and shared document systems
•Coordinate meeting scheduling across time zones
•Maintain accurate contact lists and governance materials
•Support basic budget tracking, invoice coordination, and agreement documentation, in coordination with WILD operations staff
• Track expenses and maintain clear records for reporting and institutional continuity.
The ability to synthesize complex discussions into clear, actionable documentation is essential.
3. Network Stewardship and Relationship Coordination — Support recurring network activities by coordinating logistics, communication, and follow- through. Responsibilities include:
•Maintain awareness of key partners, working groups, and institutional relationships
•Assist in tracking network relationships and identifying areas of overlap or opportunity
•Support coordination between program leads where alignment may strengthen impact
•Exercise discretion and relational judgement in sensitive contexts.
4. Strategic Support and Opportunity Tracking — The Manager contributes to strategic development while operating under the direction of senior leadership. Responsibilities include:
•Supporting development of proposals, concept notes, and briefing materials
•Monitoring relevant policy, funding, and partnership opportunities
•Identifying collaboration opportunities and potential areas where WILD can add value
•Supporting alignment between network activities and broader organizational priorities
Required Qualifications:

Professional presence in both formal government settings and more relational coalition spaces
Fluent in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams), Zoom, and comfortable supporting hybrid meetings and demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and systems
Comfort supporting basic budget tracking, invoices, and agreement workflows (in coordination with WILD operations staff)

•French language proficiency
•Background in conservation policy or international development
•Formal facilitation training
•Experience contributing to proposal drafting

This role is well suited to someone who:
•Believes deeply in advancing wilderness protection, rewilding, and Indigenous- and community-led conservation consistent with WILD’s mission
•Thrives in long-term, relational-centered network environments and understands that durable conservation impact depends on trust, collaboration, and coalition-building
•Enjoys strengthening process and supporting others to lead
